In ancient Chinese culture, the folding fan (shan) was a very versatile implement. It could be a practical cooling tool, a decorative accessory, a signifier of status, a piece of artwork and, of particular interest to wushu practitioners.

This series was done in 5 square meters with only one person, it shows the hardness and physical marks caused by the task.

Located within the UNESCO protected Three Parallel Rivers National Park is in the north-western Part of the Yunnan Province, Lao Jun Shan (Laojun Shan) offers some of the most spectacular red/purple sandstone formations in China. The so called Danxia (red/purple sandstone) is outstanding in terms of its high elevation (up to 4’200 m), which result in extreme “freeze-thaw” weathering and contributes to some remarkable Danxia landform features, including the “tortoise shell” surface pattern.

From Calafate to Upsala Glaciar
A 5 hours walk throught the glaciar valley with stunning landscapes and a vast resource of fóssil than can tell us stories with more than 4 milhion years.

The tour was through a landscape that until recently was covered by glaciers and has a great geological interest. View of Lake Guillermo and of the stunning oriental front of Upsala Glacier, Southern patagonian ice and hills Murallón and Don Bosco. Descents through the Cañadón de los Fósilesarea where we can find fosiles, remains of the last marine ingression which has been ucovered by glacial action. Valley of unique characterisitics.

There’s a definite Andean feel with traditional handicrafts, llamas, indigenous communities and Inca ruins, and the high, arid puna (Andean highlands) stretching into Chile and Bolivia. The region’s cities were Argentina’s first colonial settlements and have special appeal.
Argentina’s northwest sits lofty, dry and tough beneath the mighty Andes. Nature works magic here with stone: weird, wonderful, tortured rockscapes are visible throughout.

El Chaltén is in the Patagonian region of southern Argentina. El Chalten was founded in the late 70s/early 80s as an outpost of Argentina to anticipate land claims of Chile for that area. It is still a small town that is best known for being the gateway to Mt. Fitz Roy and Cerro Torres, two of the most rugged and impressive peaks in the Patagonian Andes. The growing number of hiking tourist lead to an increase in construction and in summer the town is full of tourists

Beagle Channel (Spanish: Canal Beagle) is a strait in Tierra del Fuego Archipelago on the extreme southern tip of South America partly in Chile and partly in Argentina. The channel separates the larger main island of Isla Grande de Tierra del Fuego from various. The channel’s eastern area forms part of the border between Chile and Argentina and the western area is entirely within Chile.

Situated on the Beagle Strait, Ushuaia is the largest city in Argentine Tierra del Fuego, and arguably the southernmost city in the world. In the past, the town has been a missionary base, penal colony and naval base for the Argentine navy. Ushuaia is now a major tourist town, complete with casinos and nice restaurants, and commonly used as a base for hiking, winter sports and cruises to Antarctica.

A little far from the conservative and functional documentary that guides my work, this series is a unique opportunity to admire the power of the Andes from the air. Sometimes it can be a bit abstract and, at some point we lose ourselves finding images drawn by nature (hope it happens to you).
It was photographed in January 2014 on a flight over the Andes Mountains in southern Argentina (Ushuaia). For me it was an experience I will never forget, I felt the power of the mountain range, I saw unique colours with a clean and transparent light to infinity.
